Drop-Leg Panel
A drop-leg panel hangs a holster, magazine pouch or dump pouch from a thigh strap below the belt line, keeping it clear of a plate carrier's bottom edge.
Attached via a leg strap and a belt loop or MOLLE panel, a drop-leg rig positions gear low enough that it doesn't interfere with sitting, crouching or a plate carrier riding down over the hips — useful specifically for a holster or dump pouch that needs to stay clear during movement.
The trade-off is that anything mounted on the leg swings and shifts more than gear mounted on a rigid belt or vest, which is why most serious loadouts limit leg-mounted gear to one item — usually a holster — rather than stacking multiple pouches down there.
A strap that's too loose is the most common complaint with this style of mount, so most players tighten the leg strap snug enough to stop swing entirely rather than leaving slack that feels comfortable standing still but flails while running.
