HPA Tank
An HPA tank is a refillable compressed-air cylinder — typically the same carbon-fibre or aluminium tanks paintball uses — worn on the body and hosed to the gun's regulator.
Tanks are rated by both volume and fill pressure (commonly up to 3000–4500 psi for carbon-fibre tanks, far higher than the gun ever sees), with a burst disc and tank valve for safety. A single fill typically lasts far longer than any gas magazine, often thousands of shots depending on tank size and regulator output setting.
Filling requires access to a compressor or fill station, which is the main logistical trade-off against gas — most HPA players fill at home or at the field rather than mid-game, and carry the tank on a belt or plate carrier with the hose routed to the gun's regulator inlet.
Carbon-fibre tanks carry a hydrostatic test date stamped on them and need periodic re-certification to keep filling legally at most compressor stations, similar to scuba or paintball tanks, which is worth checking before buying used.
