Safety Briefing

The safety briefing is the mandatory pre-game rundown of a field's rules — hit calling, MED, boundaries, out-of-bounds areas — that every player attends before setting foot on the field.

Run by a marshal or field staff, the briefing covers the essentials that vary from site to site: how hits are called, what counts as out of bounds, medic or respawn rules for that day, emergency signals, and anything specific to the scenario being run.

Attendance is treated as non-negotiable, even for players who've been to the field many times before, since rules change between seasons or scenarios and a briefing missed is the same as never having agreed to that day's rules — most fields simply won't let someone play without confirming they attended.

Asking questions during the briefing rather than after is genuinely welcomed at almost every field, since a marshal would much rather clarify a rule once in front of everyone than deal with a dispute caused by that same confusion later in the game.
