MOLLE
Also called: Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment
MOLLE is the modular attachment system that lets pouches, holsters and panels mount, remove and rearrange on a carrier, rig or belt without stitching.
MOLLE gear is built with rows of reinforced webbing strips — the PALS grid — and compatible pouches have their own strips on the back that weave through the base fabric and lock with a strap, snap or buckle, giving a secure but fully removable attachment.
The practical upshot is that a plate carrier, chest rig or belt bought once can be reconfigured endlessly as a player's role, kit list or preferences change, rather than needing a whole new piece for every loadout variation. MOLLE compatibility is close to universal in modern gear, which is what makes mixing brands on one platform normal rather than risky.
Not all MOLLE-compatible gear is built to the same webbing thickness or stiffness, so a pouch that feels loose or overly tight on one carrier can feel completely different on another, even though both are technically "MOLLE compatible."
