CQB (Close Quarters Battle)

CQB describes close-range, indoor-style combat through rooms and corridors, where engagement distances often drop under 10 metres and reaction speed matters most.

Purpose-built CQB sites use plywood structures, shipping containers or converted buildings to create rooms, hallways and blind corners that force close, fast engagements very different from open-field play — angles, doorways and sound become the main tactical concerns rather than long sightlines.

Because hits at close range hurt more, most CQB sites set a lower FPS limit and enforce a shorter minimum engagement distance than an outdoor field would, and players commonly favour shorter-barrelled guns, red dot optics over magnified scopes, and gear tuned for fast movement in tight spaces.

Muzzle discipline matters more here than almost anywhere else in the sport, since the tight quarters mean a careless muzzle sweep points at a teammate far more often than it would on an open outdoor field.
