LMG (Light Support Gun)

Also called: Light Machine Gun, Support Gun

An LMG replica fills the belt-fed or drum-fed support role: a heavier AEG built for sustained full-auto fire rather than precision.

Built around box magazines, drums, or belt-fed feeding systems holding well over a thousand rounds, an LMG trades weight and maneuverability for the ability to keep a lane suppressed far longer than a standard high-cap magazine allows. The gearbox is usually reinforced for the extra wear that constant full-auto cycling puts on gears and contacts.

On the field this is the role that holds a flank or covers a push while riflemen advance, so rate of fire and magazine capacity matter more than the tight grouping a DMR is built for. Most LMG shooters carry a sidearm as backup, since reloading a drum mid-firefight is slow.

Weight is the honest trade-off: a fully loaded LMG with drum and spare batteries can exceed the weight of two standard rifles combined, so most players who run one train specifically for carrying and repositioning it over a long game.
