Magnifier

A magnifier is a fixed-power lens mounted behind a red dot or holo sight, flipped to the side for close range and swung in line for extended reach.

Because a magnifier sits behind rather than replacing the primary optic, the dot or holographic reticle magnifies along with the target, keeping the same sight picture logic at both close and extended range rather than needing a second zeroed optic.

Most mounts let the magnifier flip 90 degrees out of the way in under a second, so a player can run a red dot for CQB engagements and swing the magnifier in for an open lane or longer building interior without switching guns or optics entirely — a common setup for multi-role loadouts that don't want to commit to either a pure CQB or pure DMR build.

Mount height matters as much as the magnifier itself: a mismatched height between the primary optic and the flipped-in magnifier forces an awkward head position exactly when a fast, accurate shot is needed most.
