Weapon Light

A weapon light mounts to a handguard rail to illuminate dark rooms or night games, usually with a pressure pad switch routed to the support hand for instant on/off.

Beyond simple illumination, brightness output and beam pattern matter tactically: a tight, far-throwing beam is better for identifying a target at distance, while a wide flood pattern lights a whole room for close-quarters clearing — some lights offer both modes in one unit.

Momentary-on operation via a pressure switch is standard practice so the light is only on when actively needed, minimizing how long a player is visible to anyone else in the dark; leaving a light on constantly gives away position immediately and is generally considered poor technique in low-light CQB or night-game scenarios.

Running a light during daylight games has real tactical value too, not just at night — a quick flash into a dark room interior or shadowed corner can reveal a hiding opponent that ambient daylight alone leaves in silhouette.
