Flat Hop
A flat hop replaces the bucking's single raised nub with a wider, flatter contact patch, spreading pressure across more of the BB for a straighter, more forgiving spin.
A stock bucking's small nub concentrates pressure on a narrow strip of the BB, which works fine but is sensitive to exact BB positioning as it passes through. A flat hop widens that contact area, distributing pressure more evenly and making the resulting spin less dependent on split-second BB alignment.
The practical result most players report is fewer stray shots that curve unexpectedly, at a modest cost in maximum achievable range compared to a well-tuned R-Hop setup. It's a popular middle-ground upgrade — noticeably better than stock, without the R-Hop's more finicky installation and tuning.
Installation is close to drop-in on most guns since it simply replaces the stock bucking as a unit, which is why it's frequently the very first upgrade a new player makes before touching anything else in the hop-up chamber.
