Trigger Response
Trigger response is the delay between pulling the trigger and the shot firing — a factor of contact quality, wiring and motor spin-up that speedsoft players especially chase.
Stock trigger contacts, thin factory wiring and a motor that has to spin up from a standstill all add small delays that stack into a noticeably sluggish first shot, particularly on cold batteries or worn contacts. Upgrading to thicker gauge wire, a MOSFET and a higher-torque motor typically trims that lag significantly.
Speedsoft and close-quarters players tune trigger response hardest because a faster first shot matters more than raw rate of fire in a quick-draw engagement. Active braking on a programmable MOSFET also improves response by resetting the piston to a consistent starting position after every shot.
Cold weather makes response noticeably worse across the board — a battery that performs snappily on a warm summer day can feel sluggish at the same charge level on a cold morning, which is worth planning for rather than blaming the gun.
